How we handle your data

What we collect
When you scan a business card, Nexio processes the image to extract contact details (name, phone, email, company, etc.). If you create an account for cloud sync, we store your email address and the contacts you save.
Apart from the event link visits described below, we do not collect browsing data, location data, or device identifiers for advertising.
Event links: when you open an event link (www.nexioscan.com/e/...), we record which event and link source it was (for example a QR code or an email), your device type and browser user agent, and a one-way hash of your IP address and user agent that changes every day, so we can count visits per event. We don't store your IP address.
If you open an event link in the Nexio app, the app records the event, the link source and your app's device ID, and uses them to give you the event plan: unlimited scans until the event's pass ends.
How we use it
Your scanned contacts are stored to give you access across devices (if you opt into cloud sync). We use your email only to manage your account. That's it.
Who sees it
Nobody but you. We don't sell your contacts, share them with advertisers, or hand them to data brokers. Your contact data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Third-party services
We use Apple's and Google Play's in-app purchase systems and RevenueCat for subscription management. To read a card, the app sends the card image over an encrypted connection to a cloud AI provider (Google's Gemini model, accessed through OpenRouter), which returns the extracted contact details.
Data retention
Your data stays as long as you keep your account. Delete your account and everything goes with it. You can also delete individual contacts at any time.
Children
Nexio is not designed for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything here, we'll update this page and note the date. For anything big, we'll notify you in the app.
